Inside Eagan’s Artistic Pulse: Ongoing Events Lighting Up Arts & Culture

As Eagan continues to evolve, its arts scene is flourishing in meaningful, accessible ways—showcasing public art, engaging workshops, and festivals that invite the community to take part. Whether you’re an artist, curious spectator, or someone seeking creative connection, there’s something happening nearly every week.

Public Art Around Town

Eagan’s HeART of Eagan public art program has expanded to include 44 artworks displayed across 20 public parks and civic spaces. Many of these pieces—like “Animal Imagined,” a bold red abstract sculpture blending geometric forms—are placed on pedestals in highly trafficked locations such as City Hall, Civic Center Park, and Wescott Library. Pieces stay in place for multi-year terms, inviting ongoing discovery.

Creative Spaces & Studios

The Eagan Art House at 3981 Lexington Avenue South serves as a hub for visual arts education and exhibition. It’s free to visit, open daily, and offers classes in everything from clay to multimedia. Visitors can sketch indoors, take in current exhibits, or explore public art indoors and in Eagan’s parks. It’s built around inclusivity—you don’t need to be an artist to drop in or try something new.

Festivals & Community Events with Lasting Impact

One of the most anticipated highlights on the arts calendar is Eagan Art Block, a two-week celebration of art and culture running from September 12-26 this year. Events include art-making for all ages, sound garden installations, poetry workshops, and the Eagan Film Festival at Emagine Theater. Each event is hosted across venues like Caponi Art Park, Wescott Library, and the Art House itself.

If you love local crafts and gathering outdoors, Eagan Market Fest delivers. During summer, it runs at the Eagan Festival Grounds with 35+ vendors, live music, concessions—and in fall, moves under cover to Goat Hill Park. This market connects residents with local artisans, musicians, and makers in a relaxed setting.

How to Participate

  • Walk or drive around Eagan with the public art map—you’ll find installations in unexpected places.
  • Check in on the Art House schedule for exhibits, classes, or drop-in studio times.
  • Join Market Fest nights—food, community, and music make for a great evening.
  • Plan to attend parts of Eagan Art Block: workshops, film screenings, and performances make for easy entry points.

All told, Eagan is transforming the places we pass every day into stages for art and creativity. The work here isn’t just about seeing—it’s about taking part.
